Elvis passed away in the month of August, when Lisa Marie was 9 years old, which made her the joint heir to his estate along with great-grandfather Vernon Presley and great-grandmother Minnie Mae Hood Presley. After their deaths in 1979 and 1980, Lisa Marie was the sole heir. She also took over the estate of her dad’s Graceland residence.

“He’d always get me up in the middle of the night, then get on the table to sing,” Lisa Marie recalled about her time performing with Elvis while appearing on Good Morning America in 2009. “I am still able to remember him as my father, and it was an extremely exciting time.”

The couple got married in October of 1988. Lisa Marie married Danny Keough, a musician from Chicago, and they had two children: Riley in 1989 and Benjamin in 1992.Benjamin is from 1992. The couple divorced in May 1994, after five and a half years of marriage.

Two years later, Lisa Marie and Jackson have ended their relationship.

“The most significant thing that is in common with Michael’s and my father’s views on this topic is that they both had the freedom to create whatever realities they wanted to make,” she told Oprah Winfrey during an interview in 2016, per HuffPost. “They could have all kinds of people who would either choose to follow their rules or who didn’t follow their agenda.” If they didn’t, they could be removed from the program.

The year 2000 was when Lisa Marie got engaged to the Hawaiian-born singer John Oszajca, though the relationship ended when she was introduced to actress Nicolas Cage at a birthday celebration for Johnny Ramone in 2000, after he split from Patricia Arquette.

Two years later, Lisa Marie and Cage were married in a private wedding ceremony held on the island of Hawaii in honour of the 25th anniversary of Elvis’ death. In less than four months following their marriage, the couple declared they were breaking up.

“I’m sorry about this, but we shouldn’t have had a wedding at all,” Lisa Marie said in a statement made by her publicist, Paul Bloch.

Her fourth wedding took place in 2006 with Michael Lockwood, with whom Lisa Marie welcomed twin daughters, Harper and Finley, two years later. Lisa Marie then filed for divorce in June of 2016. The divorce was approved in 2021. The divorce was finalised in 2021. Since their divorce, they have been involved in a constant custody dispute over their children.

In an interview with Healthy Living in 2014, Lisa Marie described herself as “ferociously protecting”  her children. “I simply smother them with affection,” she shared. “They are my top priority.” That’s why I work. This is what I am most concerned about. “I make sure they are in my arms and ensure they’re healthy and happy.”

In the year 2020, the son of Lisa Marie Benjamin passed away by suicide on the 12th day of July, which was his birthday on the 28th of July. “My beautiful and beautiful angel, I was awed by the ground that you walked on both on earth and in heaven,” she wrote on Instagram shortly after his death. “My heart, soul, and spirit were with you. “The intensity of suffering is overwhelming and endless without you each day.”

She has talked about how she feels about her loss over the years since she died. She has posted tributes to Benjamin’s birthday, and in 2022, she wrote an emotional piece for PEOPLE about the loss.

“It’s an honest decision to continue and one that I need to make every day, and it’s always challenging in the best way possible… “But I’m determined to keep fighting to help my girls,” she wrote in the spirit of National Grief Awareness Day. “I persevere since my son was clear during his final moments that caring for his sisters and looking after them were at the top of his thoughts and mind.” “He loved them so much, and they loved him.”

As a singer, Lisa Marie released three albums in 2003: To Whom It May Concern, which later became gold-certified for more than 500 thousand units sold in the United States, as well as 2005’s So What and 2012’s Storm & Grace.
